Compasses
Marine electronics need sensors to work. For many chartplotters and marine radar systems, the compass provides critical data. For a complete integrated marine electronics system, the compass is usually contained in the autopilot. When no pilot is available or when a dedicated compass sensor is required, you can add one of these sensors to get the magnetic heading data in to your system. This allows the device to show the compass heading and to use the data to enable features such as chart / radar overlay.
